On October 19th, the Toronto rapper, Drake, released a new video for his single “Hotline Bling.” The song, which is now #2 on the Billboard Top 100, showcases Drake’s love history. The song says, “You used to call me on my cellphone, late night when you need my love, I know when that hotline bling, that can only mean one thing…” This is Drake reflecting on his past memories with women he may have loved. Drake also talks about this song being the single that has changed his career. He wrote in Instagram, “I spend my life trying to make waves for the city I am from, no accolades really matter to me other than the fact that I have never had a billboard No. 1.” He also added, “If I get my first No. 1 during the month of October, it will be the biggest moment of my career to date (in my mind) and if you are looking for me on that particular evening I will be passed out in the water slide that connects to our pool.”
The video for the single itself features Drake dancing in and around many geometric shapes that change into various colors. The video lasts four minutes and fifty-six seconds and is worth the watch.
