According to a study done by MTV in the first week of September, electronic addiction has reached an all time high for both kids and now adults as well. The technology advancements has reached an all time high in the 21st century. Smartphones being the most common. Everywhere one looks there is a cellphone. Walking down the street, walking through the hallway at work or school, at the beach, etc. The list can go on. People these days feel as if they cannot live without their phones and they have to take it everywhere with them. “If I don’t have my phone I feel incomplete.” “I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do after I open my eyes is reach for my phone.” The big phone companies such as Samsung and Apple do not make it any easier by releasing new phones every year. Phones have became so advanced that they talk back! Take a person from the 1900s and give them a smartphone and they will be absolutely startled. Adults use to nag teens about the prolonged cellphone use, that is until they realized that they use them just as much. “We were sitting at Texas Coral waiting to be seated. It was my mom, dad, grandparents, little brother, and I. My mom and dad were on their phones checking emails and doing work stuff. I was on my phone on Twitter. And my little brother was on his iPad watch cartoons. My grandparents just looked at us then at each other and my papa said, “They would not survive an hour back in our day.”
