With so many fall holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Black Friday, fall is one of the busiest seasons of the year. It is also the transition season between summer and winter and so many new trends are introduced to the world.

As people start to put away the tank tops and shorts, warm clothes are being brought out for the season and people are getting ready for the cold weather to come. Girls and guys both have new trends with the beginning of fall.

Junior Shane Agorichas, says his favorite fall trend is flannels. Junior, Rylee Herrbach says “Big sweaters and boots are one of the best parts of fall.”
Fall also has many trends in food. Pumpkin, apples, and caramel seem to be their own food group during the season.

Pumpkin is definitely the most predominant flavor for the upcomming months. From the pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks to pumpkin spice Milano cookies, it seems like everything is flavored like it. Roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin pie are also quite popular.

Carmel and apples are also common this time of year. Whether it is fried apples, caramel apples, or apple pie, they are almost everyone’s favorite.

“My favorite foods in fall are pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. But not togther,” says Junior, Emily Glowacki.

During the fall, apple orchard and pumpkin patch visits are some of the favored activities. Garwood Orchards in Laporte is the closest one to Michigan City. The nearest pumpkin patch is Coulter’s in Westville on Highway 421. After these visits apples are brought home for people to try new recipies and pumpkins are carved for Halloween.

“Bonfires are another one of my fall favorites,” says Glowacki.

Football also kicks back up in Fall. The Thanksgiving game brings even the people that do not like football together. Football may be one of the most popular sports in fall but it definitely is not the only one. At MCHS swimming conditioning starts in fall while vollyball and soccer seasons come to a close.

Fall is a great time of year for anything for trends to come to life. There is a little something for everyone to enjoy. Fun fall trends include everything from fashion to fires, and food to drinks.
