Manziel involved in another off-field incident

Johnny Manziel has had a history of off-field issues, both in college at Texas A&M and in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, and that still remains the case.

Last Saturday, January 30, Manziel got into another incident with his ex-girlfriend at a hotel in Dallas, Texas. After allegedly assaulting her in their hotel, he proceeded to leave with her to drive to her apartment in Fort Worth, Texas.

During the drive, according to the woman, the two were shouting angrily at each other, and Manziel hit her multiple times. WFAA in Dallas reported that Manziel even said to the woman, “shut up or I’ll kill us both.”

The woman also said that Manziel was acting “as if he were on some kind of drugs,” but assured that he was not intoxicated.

Manziel, on the other hand, has denied that he ever struck her. TMZ reported that Manziel said, “It didn’t happen. I’m completely stable. I’m safe and secure.”

After all of this, no charges were made by either the Dallas or Fort Worth police department. However, the Browns decided that they will release Manziel in March once they can afford it to go against their hard cap.

The Dallas Cowboys expressed interest earlier this year in both Manziel and former Redskins’ starting quarterback and first round draft pick Robert Griffin III. The Cowboys signed Greg Hardy last year, a player who was involved in a domestic violence case, and received outrage from the public for supporting him, so signing Manziel would not be too out of the ordinary for Jerry Jones and his team.
