Let’s Watch: Finding Dory

Finding Dory is the epic tale of how Dory finally finds her family.
After years of being separated from her family, and even forgetting they existed, Dory finally remembers the biggest bombshell of her life: her family is out there somewhere and Dory knows she has to go find them. Finding Dory was released in theaters on June 17, 2016 and is the incredible sequel to the childhood favorite Finding Nemo.
Finding Dory was long awaited by many and delivered an exceptional storyline. Dory, Marlin, and Nemo venture out to help Dory be reunited with her family. Dory first wandered off as a young fish and got lost while trying to be reunited with her family.
Dory has memory problems and this helped contribute to her originally getting lost.

In the original movie Finding Nemo, Dory just kept swimming and swimming until finally she ran into Marlin. Throughout Finding Dory, the audience gets to see flashbacks from young Dory’s life.
The flashbacks help the viewers connect on aq personal level with Dory. They get to see what her life was like before she appeared in Finding Nemo. While trying to find her family, Dory gets separated from Marlin and Nemo and ends up being taken to the Marine Life Institute in California. Marlin and Nemo follow behind in search of her.
Dory meets several new people and gets reunited with a couple of old friends, like Destiny, a whale shark, who she was friends with when she was little. Destiny helps Dory navigate the pipes and figure out how to swim to and from the different tanks.
She meets Hank, the octopus, who spends the whole time trying to reunite Dory with her family so he can take her tag and be sent to a different aquarium.
Hank is first portrayed as a grumpy octopus who is only motivated by his own personal goals. He spends the movie acting like he does not care about others but then has a sudden change of heart at the end of the movie.
Finding Dory is filled with lots of memorable moments that ensures a great time for the whole family.
All in all, this movie is not just for young kids but for those who grew up watching Finding Nemo. Finding Dory is a great movie and is definitely worth the watch.
