The Bachelor games begin

The Bachelor Winter Games premiered for the first time ever on Tuesday, February 13 and is ABC television network’s new show.  The show incorporates 26 bachelors and bachelorettes from America and all around the world in countries such as Switzerland, Canada, Japan, and Australia.

Chris Harrison is the host of the series in which contestants will enjoy friendly competition and the search for love that they could not find on their previous Bachelor and Bachelorette experiences.  The challenges in the show are inspired by the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and an “opening ceremony” was held to introduce each contestant in the streets of Vermont.  Men compete against men, and women compete against women.  The winner from each challenge receives a date card and is given the option to go on a date with the person of their choice.

Bachelor Nation favorite, Ben Higgins from Bachelor Season 20, is on the show to find love again, as well Ashley Iaconetti from Bachelor Season 19 and Luke Pell from Bachelorette Season 12.  The show also includes guest appearances from U.S. Figure Skating Champion, Nancy Kerrigan, and U.S. Figure Skating Pairs Champions, Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner.  Country music singer, Ruthie Collins, also performs.

Eliminations take place throughout the series with the form of “voting off contestants” in the rose ceremonies.  The three women and two men with the most votes were sent home.  The episodes will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-9:00 CT until the finale on Thursday, February 22 where a couple will be crowned the winner.
