A very important milestone was accomplished by NBA player LeBron James this past week. Lebron James has now passed Michael Jordan for fourth on the all-time points scored list.
In a game against the Denver Nuggets, Lebron only needed 13 points to move past Jordan, and he did it in the second quarter on the free throw line. Although Lebron and the Los Angeles Lakers lost the game, the whole team felt like they won because they had witnessed greatness.
Arguably one of the biggest debates in all of sports is who is the greatest of all time or the G.O.A.T. of basketball. Michael Jordan is typically considered the best by a big percent of fans, but devout followers of Lebron believe differently. Now some say that because Lebron has passed Jordan, he is clearly the G.O.A.T. now, but Jordan fans are not having it.
This was a very emotional milestone for Lebron and he could be seen after the game showing his emotions court side. Lebron said he idolizes Jordan and that he was the reason that Lebron got involved in basketball in the first place.
Many athletes reached out over all forms of social media to congratulate Lebron on this milestone. Lebron now trails only Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points in NBA history. Most knew that Lebron was great, but now analysts say that he finally solidified his spot among the best players to ever step on the court.
