The MCHS National Honor Society inducted its 2019-2020 members on March 19, 2019 in the MCHS auditorium. The ceremony included a few words said by Principal Van Buskirk and MCAS Superintendent Dr. Barbara Eason-Watkins. Senior NHS members, Kasey Halfacre, Zennon Wilhelm, Dominic Yanke and Natalie Parker gave speeches on service, leadership, scholar, and character. The inductees lit candles and repeated the NHS pledge to become officially inducted into the Honor Society. The ceremony closed with each inductee receiving a certificate and signing their names in a book that includes the names of past NHS members.

Also on the day of induction, the inductees and current members had a breakfast in the school library to celebrate the inductees’ achievement of being invited to become a member of the Honor Society.

“The entire process of being inducted was honestly amazing. Everything from the breakfast to the ceremony itself was awesome,” said Inductee and Senior Zak Nowatzke.

2019 NHS chapter president Evangelea Dabagia said, “Inductions went as smooth as ever. It was an honor to welcome the next group of members and so great to see how happy and proud they were to be there.”

Inductee and Junior Sara Poulin shared, “I am honored to be a part of such an amazing organization, and the whole process of getting inducted is definitely something I will never forget. I cannot wait to see where the next year in NHS takes me!”
