Settle Down with Holiday Entertainment

As the holiday season approaches and days become longer, settle down with the best holiday entertainment this year.
It’s about that time to start putting up your Christmas tree, buying gifts, and drinking hot cocoa, because ABC Family begins their “25 Days of Christmas” primers. This gives families another year to continue holiday traditions.
This annual countdown to Christmas began in 1996 and never fails to get viewers in the holiday spirit. Since 2007 they extended the “25” days into November to give viewers classic holiday movies as well as general-interest movies like ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
ABC Family never disappoints watchers when it comes to providing viewers with their favorite holiday movies. On November 20th, some of the most popular movies everyone has been waiting all year for, fill televisions.
Sophomore Kaitlin Emerick says, “It’s a great way to get your family together and watch Christmas movies all day!”
Starting on December 1st, viewers can start the festive season watching holiday specials and returning favorites.
Last year, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, on December 2nd, became the lineup’s most watched program ever, with 5.4 million viewers.
Sophomore Wesley Wellman says, “Christmas entertainment is my favorite because it’s so relaxing and memorable.”
Although ABC Family takes in many viewers, families also settle down by listening to holiday music.
“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” says freshman Coleton Bailey.
In the middle ages, the English made dances with songs and called them carols. Soon after, carols passed to Germany and France and because of this, music has become a great tribute to Christmas.
This is the time to get into the Christmas spirit and spend some quality time with your family. Enjoy this month and take in all of the holiday movies and settle the day listening to comforting Christmas music.
