Emily Gushrowski, Feature Reporter
Writing brings such happiness into the life of senior, Emily Gushrowski. Emily’s love for writing started as soon as she could write her name. At age 4, it took a lot of practice to master such a long name, but Emily’s determination and willpower contributes to her hard work in writing today. As a child, she enjoyed making up her own stories and telling them to whoever would listen. Writing is Emily’s escape from the drama and headaches that are a part of being a senior in high school. After taking journalism her freshman year at MCHS, she knew she wanted to be on the Cityzen Staff to play a role in the sports and feature sections. Taking the journalism class at school prepared her for working on the newspaper as a first, second and third year member. The class taught her how to manage Photo Shop and Indesign programs. Emily has been part of the Cityzen staff for 3 years. She also participates in girl's golf and attempts to be a part of other clubs, but ultimately newspaper is her favorite. Although she spends a lot of time in classes throughout the day and sports after school, she likes to come to newspaper and be able to express her thoughts and write about what interests her. Emily enjoys writing for features and sports and being able to interview student athletes at MCHS. Feature writing allows her to write about what she is interested in, and newspaper as a whole gives Emily the opportunity to write with freedom.
