The Cityzen

Kaitlyn Steinhiser, Editor

Kaitlyn, a senior at Michigan City High School, fell in love with journalism kind of by accident. It all started in fourth grade when she was accidentally put into the newspaper club by her teacher. Soon after that, she realized that journalism gave her a way to educate people about current events and a way to communicate her opinions to other people through writing.  Since then, journalism has always played an extremely important role in Kaitlyn Steinhiser's life. She stayed involved in Coolspring Elementary School's newspaper club for her last two years there, and then wrote for The Crusader Chronicle at Barker Middle School and the "In the Middle" column in The News Dispatch. Today, she is the #1 Student Northwest Indiana reporter from Michigan City High School at Ideas in Motion Media. When she is not writing, she can be found fulfilling her duties as class president, president of MCHS's International Thespian Society, Quiz Bowl and Spell Bowl captain, and Business Development Manager at La Porte Chrysler. This is her third and final year being a part of The Cityzen staff, and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to impact The Cityzen on a larger scale as an editor. Kaitlyn would like to thank you for reading The Cityzen and hopes you enjoy her written work.
