My name is Monica Zaknoun, and I am a senior at MCHS. I am the Feature Editor of the Cityzen and have been on staff since freshman year. Besides the school newspaper, other clubs that I am involved in here at MCHS include National Honor Society of which I am president, French Club of which I am also acting as president, Foreign Language Honor Society, International Thespian Society, and Steering Committee.

Outside of school I am the president of the Michigan City Teen Court. I also volunteer as a teacher’s assistant for my local church’s Sunday school.

This past summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to study abroad in France for seven weeks through the Indiana University Honors Program for Foreign Languages. While overseas, I was able to more fully develop my world views to encompass broader ideas, perspectives, and  opinions.

These are the things I try to bring forth in my writing for the Cityzen, as well as showcasing all the great things happening in MCHS and in its community.
