The Cityzen

Skyler Bailey, Sports Reporter

Hello my name is Skyler Bailey. I am a senior at Michigan City High School, and this is my second year on the Cityzen Newspaper staff.  In autumn, I am left and central defense for the varsity soccer team.  Every spring since my freshmen year, I have been running track for the Michigan City High School team.  I run the varsity hurtles, 800 open, 4x800, and 4x400.  I enjoy these sports because they are team oriented and I prefer working with a team. The connections you make with your teammates makes high school a blast.  Some of my teammates are my best friends.  Besides sports, I am also involved in Student Council, Steering Committee, and German Club.  Outside of school I am part of a peace organization known as CISV.  I have been a part of this organization since I was eleven years old.  The aim of CISV is to create global peace and friendships.  I have also been involved in 4-H since I was in preschool. The aim of 4-H is to teach kids responsibilities and to get involved within your community.  I may seem like a busy person but I also enjoy my down time. I enjoy hanging out with family and friends. They have helped me with everything I have done in life. They push me to be the best I can be and always encourage me to do more then I think I can do. I do not know what I would do without them.
